In the Sahaswan town of Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun, a Hindu minor girl has complained that she was raped by a Muslim youth named Faizi for over a year by blackmailing her using an obscene video. The 16-year-old Hindu victim informed the police that the Muslim youth was threatening to circulate her obscene video online and pressured her to convert to Islam.
Hindu organisations reached the police station late in the evening and created a ruckus, demanding the arrest of the accused. Following this, the Sahaswan Police registered an FIR after 8:30 pm and began searching for the accused. On Tuesday (16th June), the Badaun Police arrested Faizi from the dirt road leading to the village Zahidpur Alampur.
The victim, who is a student of the 11th grade at an inter-college, said that the accused Faizi used to follow her while she was going to and from college. She protested several times, but the accused did not listen.
One day, however, Faizi stalked her and entered her home. Finding her alone, he threatened and raped her. He also made an objectionable video of her. From then on, he repeatedly threatened to circulate the video and harassed her.
He had raped her several times. Just a few days ago, he showed her the video and threatened to circulate it. “After that, your reputation will be ruined. You won’t be able to show her face anywhere. You should convert to Islam and marry me,” he reportedly warned.
The victim was initially reluctant to reveal her ordeal to anyone; however, she finally mustered courage, informed her family, and approached the police. Reports say that after the victim told her family about Faizi’s crimes, he threatened her, saying that if she told anyone, he would kill her and her family, and claimed to have connections with Islamic terrorists.
The accused has also allegedly extorted around Rs 1.5 lakh from the victim.
A mobile phone found with the student contained messages from the accused, threatening and intimidating her, pressuring her to convert to Islam and marry him. The accused rape jihadi had previously been booked in cases in which he had been jailed.
