Bangladesh’s paramilitary force issues threats to BSF, plans on using villagers to ambush Indian security force: Details

On Thursday (23rd January), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) commander Lt. Col Golam Kibria issued threats to the Border Security Force (BSF).

“I am standing here with all the forces. You (villagers) do not need to come here. I am alone enough to cut down BSF to size. Was I able to make you understand?” he was heard saying in a viral video.

The BGB commander declared that he would call upon the villagers to ambush the BSF when the need arose. “When it becomes necessary, I will give a call to villagers to come with me and cut down BSF to size,” he threatened

“We have weapons, training, willpower and the size of 18 crore people. Is there anything for us to be afraid of? Inshallah,” Lt. Col Golam Kibria continued.

The development comes days after a mob of Bangladeshis crossed over the border and attempted to steal the standing crops of Indian farmers. The incident took place in Sukdevpur in the Malda district of West Bengal on 18th January.

Earlier this month, Bangladeshis created a ruckus over the construction of a barbed wire fence at the Sukdevpur border.
