A 4-year-old girl has been raped on school premises during school hours in Bidar, Karnataka, as per reports. The child’s mother noticed the assault when she was changing her clothes after school.
A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered at the women’s police station in Bidar.
The child has been admitted to the BRIMS Hospital in Bidar, where she is undergoing treatment in the ICU, TOI reported.
The girl’s mother has stated that the incident happened between 9 am and 2 pm on Wednesday, when the child was at school. The autorickshaw that takes the child to school and brings her back was not available on that day, so the child was picked up by her father.
Bidar SP Pradeep Gunte has been quoted by The New Indian Express, stating that the police are yet to speak to the victim, and a medical examination has not been done yet. The alleged sexual assault is yet to be confirmed, and police would be able to confirm the alleged crime only after a medical report.
