Relief for anganwadi, asha and other staff
The Chief Minister said the government is also working for Shikshamitras and instructors. Recently, it announced cashless medical treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh for Shikshamitras, instructors, cooks and teachers. The benefit will come into effect from 1st of April. He said the government’s focus is on “satisfaction, not appeasement,” and added that nearly 60 million people have been lifted out of poverty in recent years.
Law and order and Governance
Speaking about law and order, Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh has moved from what he called a “fear zone” to a “faith zone.” He said there was a time when families worried about the safety of their daughters, but now women can return home safely even after late shifts.
He credited strict policing, record police recruitments, better cyber and forensic infrastructure, and a zero-tolerance approach for improving the situation. According to him, curfews and riots have given way to an atmosphere of festivals, temples and economic activity linked to tourism and faith.
Attack on the opposition over SIR
The Chief Minister also targeted the Samajwadi Party over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls. He accused the opposition of insulting constitutional institutions and said party workers were misbehaving with Booth Level Officers and others involved in the revision process. He claimed that over 28.8 million names in the SIR list belong to people who are dead or have shifted.
He said earlier governments had forcibly registered such voters. He also explained the role of Form 6, Form 7 and Form 8 in the Election Commission’s system.
Focus on Jobs, Technology and EV growth
Highlighting economic progress, Adityanath said the unemployment rate in the state has fallen from over 19 % before 2017 to 2.24 % now. He said Uttar Pradesh has expanded into tourism, hospitality and defence manufacturing, while also moving into new sectors such as AI robotics, semiconductors, drones, cybersecurity and electric vehicles.
The state’s first electric vehicle manufacturing unit has been set up in Lucknow, and more investments are coming in. Uttar Pradesh accounts for over 19 % of electric vehicles sold in the country and more than 40 % of three-wheelers. Over 700 electric buses are running in the state, and charging stations have been installed along expressways.
He added that with more than 20,000 startups, seven Centres of Excellence and eight unicorns, youth are playing a key role in shaping the state’s new identity.
