In Mumbai, a boat carrying over 60 passengers has capsized near the route to Elephanta caves. As per reports Indian Navy and Coast Guard vessels are engaged in rescue operations.

Local fishing vessels are also helping to rescue the passengers. While the exact number of passengers on board is yet to be ascertained, some media reports stated that there were around 35-40 tourists returning from Elephanta caves to Gateway of India.
ANI reported that one passenger has been confirmed dead, while some are missing. Indian Coast Guard ship Subhadra Kumar Chauhan is on-site overseeing the rescue ops. More details are awaited.
