After repeated incidents of extortion and harassment targeting the South Asian community in Brampton and Mississauga areas, Peel Regional Police have arrested a number of Punjab-origin men, including a 21-year-old Muslim girl. The arrested individuals include Lovepreet Gill, Tejinder Tatla, Ricky Gill Singh, Dinesh Kumar, Dupinderjeet Cheema, Navinder Gill and Harmanjeet Singh a,omg others.

A 21-year-old woman named Rukhsar Achakzai has also been arrested in this investigation. The police have also seized over 20 firearms.
In a video, Peel Poluec informed that their Extortion Investigative Task Force has made 23 arrests, totalling 153 criminal charges and have seized over 20 firearms along with a considerable amount of ammunition. Multiple high-capacity gun magazines, 11 kg of methamphetamine and over 10,000 dollars in cash. 6 stolen vehicles have also been recovered in the operation.
Peel Police have asked locals not to be scared or fall victim to extortion gangs and inform the police immediately.
