Delivering a swift justice, the government in China has executed Fan Weiqiu, the man who had crashed his vehicle into a crowded space near a stadium in Zuhai and killed around 35 people in November 2024. As per reports, Weiqiu was executed earlier today on January 20, Monday.
It took just over 2 months since the date of the crime for the death sentence to be carried out. On November 11, 62 year-old Fan Weiqiu drove his vehicle into a group of people exercising outside a stadium in the southern Chinese city of Zuhai. 35 persons died in the attack and over a dozen others were injured.

Fan Weiqui was reportedly angry over a court order that divided his property after his divorce.
He was sentenced to death in December. It took the authorities less than a month to carry out the death sentence. Weiqiu’s crime was reportedly one of the deadliest mass murder events in China in over a decade.
