Uttar Pradesh: CM Yogi Adityanath to inaugurate an IT park in Gorakhpur, project to boost IT-startup ecosystem and generate employment

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate an IT park in the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) area in the state on Thursday (March 26th). Spanning over 3.5 acres and built at a cost of ₹20 crore, the IT park has been set up in Sector-7 of GIDA with support from the state government. With the launch of the IT Park, established by the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) centre under the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Gorakhpur is set to develop an IT-startup ecosystem.

The centre aims to provide a major push to IT-led growth in the region. It will support IT, IT-enabled services (ITES), BPOs and startups by offering high-speed internet and robust infrastructure. The facility is a part of the state government’s larger vision of promoting technology-driven entrepreneurship in tier-2 cities like Gorakhpur. It will encourage ventures in data collection, software development and remote infrastructure management, generating employment opportunities for local youth. The 36 units to be established in the IT park will employ more than 15,000 people.

The IT park is equipped with a 50-seater plug-and-play workspace, along with 6,000 sq ft each of raw and semi-furnished incubation space. It accommodates a 54-seat auditorium, conference rooms, advanced network operations systems, a cafeteria, and other modern amenities.
