Congress leader Kapil Sibal and other MPs have moved an impeachment motion against Justice Shekhar Yadav of the Allahabad High Court. As per reports, the group of MPs led by Kapil Sibal had submitted the motion to the Secretary General of the Rajya Sabha today.

Justice Shekhar Yadav had recently attended an event organised by the VHP. His speech at te event had gone viral. He was seen advocating for the rights of majority community and how some fundamentalist practices of the minority community threatens the socio-cultural fabric of the nation.
On Sunday (8th December), a sitting judge of the Allahabad High Court delivered a lecture on the constitutional necessity of the Uniform Civil Code at an event hosted by the Vishva Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) legal cell in Prayagraj. In his speech, Justice Shekhar Yadav voiced “Kathmullas,” in an apparent reference to Islamic fundamentalists, are dangerous for the country. He was speaking on the topic “Uniform Civil Code: A Constitutional Necessity.“
