As the February 5 Delhi Elections draw near, nominations are already underway. AAP’s Patparganj candidate and popular UPSC coach Awadh Ojha’s nomination was under doubt because Ojha is registered as a resident and voter of Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. To file his nomination for the Patparganj seat, Ojha would have to first get his voter address transferred from UP to Delhi.
Earlier today, AAP leaders Atishi, Kejriwal and others, including Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann met the officials of the Delhi Election Commission and discussed Ojha’s issue. Talking to media after the meeting, Kejriwal informed that the EC has agreed for the vote transfer of Ojha.
Ojha informed that he will get his admit card by tomorrow and by Wednesday he can file his nomination from Patparganj. CM Atishi’s scheduled nomination filing for today was also delayed. She is expected to file it tomorrow on January 14.
Delhi will vote on February 5, while the results will be declared on February 8. January 17 is the last date for filing nominations.
