The Delhi Police on Sunday, 29 December, have deported 15 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants living in India. The deportees include a family of 8, as per reports.
The Delhi police deported one Jehangir, his wife and their 6 children. The group also included one Umar Farouk, Riyaz Miyan, and five women.
DCP Southwest Surendra Chaudhary has informed that a team was deployed to conduct door-to-door verification of around 400 families in the Rangpuri area after information was received about some illegal immigrants living in the area. The provided addresses in West Bengal were manually verified too for authenticity. Eventually, Jehangir and others confessed about their illegal stay in India.
In another operation, 7 illegal immigrants from Bangladesh were arrested on Saturday at the Arjan Garh metro station. DCP South Ankit Chauhan confirmed the development.
