Did singer Diljit Dosanjh use an old Aadhaar Card for his recent Taj Mahal visit in Agra? Here is what we know

Popular Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh is in the news for not-so-good reasons. The singer was recently at the centre of speculation regarding his citizenship and alleged use of an old Aadhaar card during his visit to Agra in Uttar Pradesh.

A recent report by the Times of India revealed that a singer used an old Aadhaar Card during his stay at a hotel in Agra and during his visit to the local historical monument. The report did not name Diljit Dosanjh or any other singer, but local media reports linked the unnamed singer to Diljit Dosanjh.

According to the TOI report, the prominent singer, who is said to have acquired US citizenship in 2022, checked into a hotel in Agra on Monday (October 26, 2026). The singer initially did not provide identification documents, after which the hotel staff alerted FRRO officials.

After the FRRO officials insisted on compliance with the Immigration and Foreigners framework, the singer submitted an Aadhaar Card hours later, followed by the submission of Form III (Form C) the next day after he had checked out. Notably, Form III is a report that an Indian accommodation provider is required to file with immigration authorities when a foreign national stays at their premises.

The report stated that this was the first time that the singer had filled out Form III during his visit to India. He had never done so during his earlier visits to India. He came to India on a business visa and is expected to travel across the country for his upcoming concerts in cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

Some media reports citing sources said that the singer used the same Aadhaar Card, issued to him when he was an Indian citizen, during his visit to an Archaeological Survey of India (ASI)-protected monument in Agra.

The details mentioned in the TOI report about the unnamed singer point to Diljit Dosanjh, who is reported to have acquired US citizenship in 2022. He is currently on his RuPay Aura India Tour 2026 and has scheduled shows in various cities, including Delhi, Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Lucknow. The tour begins on October 30, 2026, in Delhi-NCR, where Diljit is scheduled to perform at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Moreover, Dosanjh visited the ASI-protected monument Taj Mahal in Agra on October 27 ahead of his concert in Delhi.
