In Faridabad, the body of a youth named Deepak was found near the Sector 62 area on January 8. Faridabad Police have stated that they have solved the murder case and have arrested the accused. The youth was missing since December 16. Deepak’s family had alleged that he was murdered by a group of people who were accused in a rape case.
The Faridabad Police have, however, stated that their investigation found that Deepak was killed not by the people whose names were mentioned in the complaint by the victim’s family but by his own friend and neighbour. Deepak’s brother Dileep had named 14 persons, including Fakhruddin, Idris and others in the case, alleging that they may have killed Deepak because Deepak was the witness in an old case of rape of a minor girl where the above-named persons were accused.

Faridabad Police have, however, stated that Deepak was killed by his friend Karan over a personal dispute. Karan has two wives and Deepak was reportedly involved romantically with Karan’s first wife. Karan and Deepak had fought in the past over the issue. Karan, who was also Deepak’s neighbour, had invited Deepak for drinks and after Deepak was drunk, he smashed his head with a stone. Karan had also used a scarf to strangle Deepak to make sure he died.
Accused Karan has been arrested by the police.
