A massive fire at a nightclub in North Goa killed around 2 dozen people late on Saturday (6th December) night. The police suspect the fire to be caused by a cylinder blast inside Birch by Romeo Lane, a restaurant and club near Baga Beach in Arpora, about 25 km from the state capital, Panaji.
The fire call was received by the Goa police control room at 12:04 am. Within minutes, the police, fire brigade and ambulances reached the club. Goa’s Director General of Police later said that the blaze had been brought under control and that all bodies were recovered from the building.
