‘I have common sense, a lot of people don’t’: US President Trump when asked why he blames ‘diversity’ for chopper-plane crash

US President Donald Trump said it was his “common sense” that brought him to the conclusion that diversity was responsible for the mid-air crash between a chopper and an airliner in Washington DC earlier this week.

During an interaction with the media, when asked what makes him believe ‘diversity’ was to be blamed for the mishap, Trump responded, “Because, I have common sense, and unfortunately, a lot of people don’t.”

Former U.S. President Donald Trump attributed a deadly mid-air collision between an American Airlines passenger jet and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter to diversity policies enacted during the Obama and Biden administrations, arguing that these measures compromised air safety standards.

His comments sparked intense debate over the impact of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Trump asserted that such initiatives prioritized political agendas over safety, stating, “I put safety first. Obama, Biden, and the Democrats put policy first.” He further claimed, “They actually issued a directive saying, ‘too white.’ We want competent people.”
