The agreement to end the conflict between the United States and Iran is not definitive and it is merely a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two sides. The statement was made by President Donald Trump, who threatened to resume military action if Tehran did not act in compliance with Washington’s expectations.
“It’s not final. It’s a memorandum of understanding, and if I don’t like it, if they don’t behave, we’ll go right back to dropping bombs right smack in the middle of their head because they have misbehaved for 47 years,” he warned during a bilateral meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France.

The development transpired as the two countries are preparing to sign a 14-point peace framework and an MoU on 19th June (Friday) in Geneva, Switzerland, to stop the conflict. The president stated, “The agreement with Iran is good for many reasons, including preventing it from obtaining nuclear weapons.”
He insisted, “It’s a very strong deal. Nobody knows what it is, but it’s very strong, and most people seem to be very happy. The Strait of Hormuz is going to open. It’s already partially opened. It’s going to be opening up soon in full over the next day or two.” He further remarked, “Among the results of the agreement with Iran are rising market indicators and falling fuel prices.”
“What is really happy is the stock market that has gone wild. It’s gone through the roof. And oil has tumbled down. That speaks louder than words,” he added. Trump asserted that a deal on the Strait was inevitable despite the blockade of Iranian ports by US forces and previous threats to apply force to unblock the crucial trade waterway.
“The alternative would be a worldwide depression. You know, the stupid people want to have a worldwide depression, and they’re stupid people. So, you can only go so far. You drive somebody into the ground, and a lot of bad things happen; the Strait would never open, because they don’t like floating billion-dollar ships up and down a strait when there are rockets flying over them and mines all over the place. It wouldn’t be open for a long time,” he claimed.
He also attacked former President Barack Obama and accused, “The JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action or Iran Nuclear Deal) done by Obama, he handed them $1.7bn in cash, green cash from banks, into a Boeing 757 and flew it into Iran. And they stood at the plane, I have pictures of it, ‘oh my god, look at this money he’s giving us.’ He tried to bribe his way out. I didn’t try to do that. You know what the Iranians did? They laughed at Obama and said he’s a stupid son of a b***h.”
