Uttarakhand Congress leader Yashpal Arya stoked a controversy after he raised the ‘Jai Islam’ slogan at a public rally on a road outside a mosque. The video of the incident has gone viral on the internet.
In the video, Arya says, “Jai Hind. Jai Bharat. Jai Uttarakhand. Jai Islam.”

The video, however, provoked significant controversy following the viral video of the Congress leader, representing a party self-identified with secularism, engaging in apparent minority appeasement by endorsing a slogan that explicitly exalted a specific religion.
