Jaipur police have informed that the jeweller, who was a widower, had come in contact with the woman through a matrimony app. They had got married in February 2023. In July 2023, Seema had disappeared with lakhs worth of jewellery, cash and other valuables from the businessman’s house.
The police investigation has revealed that the woman had made a career out of fraudulent weddings and loot. She had earlier in 2013 married a prominent businessman’s son in Agra and had blackmailed the family to pay her Rs 75 lakhs, by threatening to file a case of domestic abuse. In 2017, she had reportedly married an engineer in Gurugram, only to extort Rs 10 lakhs from him by threatening cases of domestic abuse, rape and unnatural sex against his brother.
