Karnataka: Grave of minor Hindu boy Sanketh, who was lynched by a Muslim mob, found vandalised in Shivamogga

The grave of the minor Hindu boy, Sanketh, who was lynched by a Muslim last month, was found vandalised at a cemetery in Urgadur, on the outskirts of Shivamogga in Karnataka. Sanketh’s father, Shivakumar, received a call on Tuesday (31st March) informing him that some miscreants had destroyed Sanketh’s memorial located near the Guddemaradi Malleshwara Temple in Uragadur.

Shivakumar informed the Tunga Nagar Police Station, after which a complaint was registered. Shivamogga Superintendent of Police, B Nikhil, said that an investigation has been launched into the incident. Policemen have been deployed near the cemetery to prevent any tension.

Sanketh was beaten to death by a bunch of Muslim minors last month on 23rd February. 16-year-old Sanketh was killed while trying to save his friend Girish from the minor Muslims who were attacking him. A case was registered in connection with his killing at the Tunga Nagar Police Station, and seven persons were arrested by the police.

The memorial was constructed by Sanketh’s family on 23rd March at the Hindu Rudra Bhoomi near the Guddemaradi Malleshwara Temple in Uragadur.
