India’s engineering and construction giant Larsen and Toubro has bagged a massive international order of Rs 2500 crores in value to build Uzbekistan’s first AI-enabled and sustainable data centre. The 10 Megawatt data centre is to be built at Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan.
L&T will deliver the data centre through the engineering, procurement and construction route, aiming for maximum energy efficiency, the company informed, as quoted by Moneycontrol.
The planned data centre will have robust security measures too, to protect sensitive data.
A 12 MW data centre built by L&T in Chennai is nearing completion and the company hopes to expand it to a 30 MW capacity. It is also planning to build similar data centres in Navi Mumbai and Bengaluru too. L&T has said that its infrastructure orders prospects for 2025 stand at a staggering 5.42 trillion rupees, with over 4.13 trillion in domestic orders.
Over 85% of L&T’s international orders are from the Middle East.
