The top saints and seers gathered for the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) meet at Mahakumbh voiced for lifting of governmental control from temples.
Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Avdheshanand Giri made a case for freeing temples from governmental control stating that temple donations worth Rs 1.86 lakh crores were currently going to the government treasury.
A senior VHP official stated that the seers affiliated with the organization have initiated a nationwide awareness campaign to liberate Hindu temples from government control.
Notable spiritual leaders from the country discussed various issues concerning the Hindu community. Highlighting concerns about the declining birth rate among Hindus, they emphasized the importance of each Hindu family having at least three children to maintain population balance.
The gathering also commended the centre over the Waqf law to restrain the Muslim board from asserting claim over sprawling chunks of lands and urged legislators for its quick passage.
