As flight disruptions are happening across the Middle East amid the ongoing US-Israel-Iran war, the retail giant Lulu Group has been sending dedicated chartered cargo flights carrying fresh food supplies to the United Arab Emirates. One of the shipments, weighing about 80,000 kg, landed in the UAE on Saturday morning (7th March). The shipment was carried by a cargo freighter operated by Etihad Airways, which transported around 12,000 packages of fresh produce from India to Abu Dhabi.

Lulu Group International reportedly operates one of the UAE’s largest supermarket networks. Speaking to Gulf News, the Lulu Group said that several such cargo shipments are being arranged for the UAE to ensure a steady supply of food to the stores. The shipment, containing thousands of packages of fresh food to be sold across Lulu supermarkets. The cargo shipment allows large quantities of perishable goods to be transported to the UAE in a short period of time without delay.
Earlier, the Lulu Group dispatched a cargo shipment carrying about 80 tonnes of meat from Delhi to the UAE. More consignments are currently being organised from Indian cities, including Mumbai and Bengaluru.
