NIA submits chargesheet against 2 terrorists Abdul Rahman and Mujibur in Hizb ul Tahir module case

The National Investigation Agency has on 24 December 2024 submitted the chargesheet against two terrorists named Abdul Rahman and Mujbur Rahman under various sections of IPC and UAPA for their involvement with the radical Islamist organisation Hizb ul Tahir.

The chargesheet was submitted to the NIA special court in Poonamallee, Chennai.

NIA has stated that both terrorists were actively involved in recruiting ‘students’ to impart radical teachings and had made several short films to propagate their anti-India ideology. They had also made videos to showcase the military powers of ‘Islamic nations’ which they claimed would be invited to attack India and overthrow the elected Indian government in order to establish an Islamic caliphate.

The organisation HuT operates with the aim to establish an Islamic caliphate in India and run the country with a Sharia-based draft constitution written by HuT founder Taqi al-Din al-Nabhani.
