Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria have again attacked villages of poor farmers and burned down houses and churches in Chibok and Borno regions. As per reports, Boko Haram struck the Dumba community in villages near Baga in the Kukawa area on January 12. The state government in Borno confirmed the attacks, saying that over 40 farmers and fishermen were killed and many from the community who had fled to save lives are yet to be reunited with their families.
Additionally, in Chibok LGA, multiple attacks by Boko Haram factions have taken place, with multiple villagers killed and houses burned down. The terrorists have also looted food supplies and livestock.
The terrorists are said to be from the Boko Haram factions associated with Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP).
The local government has said that the army has been ordered to trace and confront the terrorists.
A week earlier, the Nigerian military had claimed to kill 34 terrorists in multiple confrontations with Boko Haram.
