OpenAI boss Sam Altman has shared in a blog post that the company has developed and bettered its AGI models and will most likely be able to provide AI employees by this year.
“We are now confident we know how to build AGI as we have traditionally understood it. We believe that, in 2025, we may see the first AI agents “join the workforce” and materially change the output of companies, Altman’s blog post read.
Altman added that they hoped that it would materially change the output of companies. “We continue to believe that iteratively putting great tools in the hands of people leads to great, broadly-distributed outcomes”, he added.
OpenAI’s AI platform ChatGPT was launched on November 30, 2022. As per Altman’s blog, it now has over 300 million active users worldwide.
Sam added that the next aim for OpenAi to develop ‘superintelligence’. “Superintelligent tools could massively accelerate scientific discovery and innovation well beyond what we are capable of doing on our own, and in turn massively increase abundance and prosperity”. he wrote.
