‘Paris, we are coming today’: Pakistan International Airlines gives 9/11 vibes through disturbing social media post

On Friday (10th January), Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) stirred the hornet’s nest by giving 9/11 vibes through its post on X (formerly Twitter).

In a tweet, the national carrier of Pakistan informed its customers about the resumption of flights between Paris and Islamabad from Friday onwards.

However, the messaging via its official social media handle was rather disturbing. PIA posted a graphic with an aircraft heading towards the iconic Eiffel Tower with the caption – ‘Paris, we are coming today’

The imagery was further unsettling, given the national flag of France in the background.

It brought back memories of the September 11 attacks when terrorists belonging to Al-Qaeda deliberately crashed two hijacked flights into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre in the United States.

The official death toll of the terror attack stands at around 3000.
