Italian PM Giorgia Meloni has shared a video of PM Modi gifting her a pack of ‘very special’ toffees, Parle’s ‘Melody’. The video has gone viral on social media, and Indians are appreciating PM Modi’s sense of humour and the warm friendship shared by the two world leaders.
“Thank you for the gift”, PM Meloni posted on X. In the video, PM Modi and PM Meloni are standing together with PM Modi giving her the packet of Melody toffees. “PM Modi has brought us a gift of very, very good toffee,” Meloni says while they both laugh.

The term ‘Melodi’, or Melody was first made viral by PM Meloni herself during COP28 in Dubai in 2023. She had posted a selfie of herself and PM Modi smiling at cameras with the hashtag #Melodi and caption “Good friends at COP28”. Melodi is a combination of Meloni and Modi.

The term ‘Melodi’, relatable to the popular Parle toffees ‘Melody’ and their iconic ad jingle ‘Melody hai chocolaty..’ went viral soon and is used by Indian social media users whenever PM Modi and PM Meloni meet. Their easy friendship is also a meme favourite in India.
PM Modi had landed in Rome last evening as part of his current tour. The two world leaders visited the iconic Colosseum together and had dinner. India-Italy bilateral talks are scheduled for today.
