‘Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra has Urban Naxal links’: Maharashtra CM Fadnavis says he has all the evidence

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has stated to the media that Urban Naxals were involved in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. The newly appointed CM added that he has evidence that a meeting was held in Nepal’s Kathmandu on November 15 where some key names behind Bharat Jodo Yatra and Urban Naxals had discussed their plans to destabilise India.

“We have concrete evidence that such a meeting took place, and discussions were centred around efforts to create political instability in Maharashtra. These actions are part of a larger conspiracy,” Fadnavis was quoted by News 18.

In the Maharashtra assembly too, the CM had added that 48 of the 180 organisations involved in the Bharat Jodo Yatra were named as ‘frontal’ organisations. Even when the Manmohan Singh government named 72 ‘frontal’ organisations in February 2014, there were 7 names that later were a part of Bharat Jodo Yatra. There are 13 other organisations associated with the Bharat Jodo Yatra, as per Fadnavis, that have been found linked to Naxal operations.

Fadnavis’s statements on the Bharat Jodo Yatra and its alleged links to Naxal-related organisations are expected to cause an uproar in the coming days.
