On the 26th of December 2024, AIIMS released a statement confirming the death of former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh. The former PM was 92.
The AIIMS statement said that Manmohan Singh was being treated for age-related ailments and suffered from a sudden loss of consciousness on the 26th. Thereafter, he was admitted to the emergency room of AIIMS at 8:06 PM and despite best efforts, he was declared dead at 9:51 PM.
While AIIMS confirmed that former PM Manmohan Singh passed away at 9:51 PM, questions are now being raised on Robert Vadra – husband of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra – for announcing the passing of the former PM before the hospital did.
As it turns out, Robert Vadra had taken to Facebook to announce the death of the former Prime Minister at 9:23 PM – 28 minutes before AIIMS announced his death.
BJP charged Vadra with displaying insensitivity while several netizens too took to X (formerly Twitter) to question why Vadra jumped the gun.
