After days of controversy and legal battle, a route march organised by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was finally conducted in Chittapur of Kalabugari district in Karnataka on Sunday, 16th November. The march was held only after the state government, which had earlier denied permission for the same, was instructed by the High Court to allow it.
As per reports, the route march that began in Kalaburagi started at around 3 pm. Close to 300 uniformed RSS volunteers and about 50 members of different bands participated in it. The distance covered by the march was approximately one and a half kilometres.

To ensure security, the district administration deployed a heavy police force. More than 800 personnel, including the SP, ASP and DSP, were stationed along the route. In addition, 650 KSRP and DAR personnel, along with 250 Home Guards, were deployed across the city. CCTV cameras and drones were also used to monitor the area. Police had conducted a route inspection earlier, and meetings were held with leaders of all communities to maintain peace.
The RSS march in Chittapur had become a major political issue after the Congress-led state government refused to grant permission. The organisation then approached the High Court. After multiple hearings, the court finally granted permission for the event on Saturday, 13th November.
