Shamli, UP: Woman strangled to death by her father-in-law Abbas for rejecting sexual advances, accused arrested

In Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, the murder case of a woman has been solved by the police with a shocking revelation that the victim was killed by her own father-in-law. As per reports, in Kairana’s Khurgan village in Shamli district, a woman named Mashkura was found dead inside her residence under suspicious circumstances.

Upon the complaints of Mashkura’s maternal family members, the police had started the investigation and sent the body for a post mortem. The post mortem examination confirmed death by strangling. 

The police investigation revealed that Mashkura, who used to stay alone as her husband works somewhere in Punjab, was being blackmailed and threatened by her father-in-law Abbas. 

Abbas had reportedly introduced Mashkura to a man named Javid, allegedly her former boyfriend, and tried to blackmail her using the old relationship. As per the police, Abbas, despite being the victim’s father-in-law, had been trying exploit her sexually. 

On the day of the incident, when Mashkura rejected her father-in-law’s advances for physical intimacy, Abbas strangled the victim to silence her.

Abbas has been arrested by the police. SP NP Singh stated that Abbas has been booked under serious criminal sections for murder, conspiracy and other relevant charges.
