‘Shirk in the land of Tawheed’: Islamists suffer a meltdown over Ramayana posters in Saudi Arabia

A social media storm over the display of Ramayana promotional posters in Saudi Arabia has exposed Indian Muslims’ selective outrage and hypocrisy. The flashpoint is the “shirk in the Land of Tawheed” narrative being amplified by a section of Indian Muslims, even as Arab audiences and authorities in the Kingdom have shown no objection to the posters.

Social media platforms have been flooded with posts from Indian Muslim users decrying the display of Hindu deities in the birthplace of Islam. “Saudi Arabia: The land of Tawheed, Home of two holy mosques. And here stands a gigantic billboard promoting Ramayana—a film based on the Hindu religious epic. Welcome to the new world,” one Muslim crybaby posted on X.

while another commented, ” KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) under Jews’ control”. While quoting a Ramayana poster post, a Muslim tried to propagate false information against Hindus; he wrote, “Hindus in Saudi posting Blasphemous content against the Prophet (phuh) and claiming that @HaramainInfo is a Hindu temple. And now Hindu gods & Ramayana Posters in Saudi Arabia. Hello @MOISaudiArabia, what’s next, idol and Satan worship centres in Arabia @KSAmofaEN“

Another so-called defender of Islam wrote on Facebook, criticising Saudi Arabia, ” I’ve lived in Canada for more than 20 years, and I never saw a billboard this big. Yet here it is, in Saudi Arabia, SubhanAllah. Welcome to the new world

Indian Muslims are fundamental hypocrites who routinely lecture India on democratic pluralism and secular tolerance. The hypocrisy is staggering: Muslims demand that Ramayana posters be banned in Saudi Arabia, a theocracy, while insisting India must tolerate everything in the name of democracy. If the Arabs, the custodians of the faith, have no problem, why are Indian converts crying?

Garba in Saudi Arabia: Muslim meltdown

This meltdown is nothing new, previously Bombay HC lawyer Rukhsana Sayed wrote, referencing a video of a Hindu family attending a Garba celebration in Jeddah. “My heart bleeds when I saw this reel. A sacred land of a Muslim where Islam came, where Prophet Muhammad PBUH was born and brought up, and where the Qur’an came. That same place they started all such haram activities.”

In an apparent attempt to solicit a response and action against Garba events in Saudi Arabia, Advocate Ms Alvi tagged the Saudi Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health, and the anti-India outfit Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

When Hindus called out her bigotry, Advocate Ms Alvi doubled down on her Islamist fanaticism. She wrote, “Aray paglo, it’s our ‘sacred place’…!! Do you understand that meaning? Islam ndoes ot permit dance, music, and all, so stop abusing me. Audacity of those whose festivals are not complete without doing mujra in front of mosques, drinking, molesting women, and giving me lectures.”

When Hindu users posed a counter-question: If Hindu festivals should be banned in Islamic holy lands, should Muslim festivals be restricted in Hindu holy cities like Ayodhya, Mathura, and Kashi? Sayed’s response was swift and revealing: “India is a democratic country!!”

This response is a pattern of asymmetric demands, invoking India’s secular democratic framework to claim unrestricted access for Muslims across Hindu-majority India, while simultaneously demanding religious exclusivity in Islamic nations and opposing equivalent rights for non-Muslims in those countries. This is outright bigotry by Islamists.

The social media posts expose Muslims’ “Islamic exclusivity” mindset, the belief that Islamic lands must remain religiously exclusive while Muslim minorities in non-Muslim countries are entitled to full religious freedoms under secular frameworks.
