As campaigning for the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections reached its peak, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive rally in Sitamarhi on Saturday (8th November). In a fiery speech, he praised the people of Bihar for their support in the first phase of voting and strongly attacked the opposition, especially the RJD and Congress.

Modi said that voters had given a clear message in the first phase. “Bihar has delivered a 65-volt shock to those who imposed jungle raj on the state,” he said, adding that women and the youth were firmly standing with the NDA for development and progress.
Attack on RJD and Congress
Hitting out at the opposition, Prime Minister Modi said that the RJD and Congress had a history of misrule that pushed Bihar backwards. Describing their tenure as “jungle raj,” he said it stood for violence, corruption, cruelty, bad manners, and the shutting down of industries and hospitals. “During their 15 years of rule, no big factory was opened, no new hospital was built, and even the mills of Mithila were closed,” he remarked.
He accused the RJD of destroying the dreams of Bihar’s youngsters. “The jungle raj crushed the hopes of the new generation. Children were being made to say they wanted to become gangsters. But now Bihar’s sons and daughters will become doctors, engineers, lawyers, and judges,” Modi said to cheers from the crowd.
Recalling his earlier visit to Sitamarhi, the Prime Minister said that this land of Mother Sita has always blessed the country. He noted that his last visit here was just a day before the Supreme Court’s verdict in favour of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. Referring to the Ramayana Circuit scheme, he said that the direct train service between Sitamarhi and Ayodhya is part of a broader cultural and developmental plan that connects people with their heritage.
Modi added, “A grand temple of Sita’s son-in-law has been built in Ayodhya. Now, it is time to develop Mother Sita’s maternal home, so that the world sees the glory of Punauradham.”
Focus on development and empowerment
The Prime Minister highlighted the developmental work carried out under the NDA government in Bihar. He cited examples of self-reliance, saying there was a time when Bihar imported fish from other states, but due to new policies and the hard work of farmers, the state now exports fish. “This is the result of the efforts of our farmers and fishermen,” he said.
Modi also spoke about women’s empowerment, referring to the Indian women’s cricket team’s World Cup win. “Three days ago, these world-conquering daughters came to meet me. I was proud of their confidence,” he said, adding that government policies have helped women rise in every field.
Concluding his speech, the Prime Minister said that Bihar’s future lies in development and good governance, not in the politics of threats and guns. “We do not want a gun-toting government. We want a government that brings progress, opportunity, and peace to every home,” he declared, expressing confidence that the people of Bihar will once again choose the NDA in the upcoming phase of elections.
