Prime Minister Narendra Modi has intensified his campaign for the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections, appealing to voters to come out in large numbers while taking sharp jabs at the RJD and Congress during his rallies. Polling for the first phase of the elections began on Thursday, 6th November.
Modi reached out to the people ahead of the second phase, addressing a massive public rally in Araria’s Forbesganj.
Your vote will end ‘Jungle Raj’
Speaking at the rally, the Prime Minister said he was happy to see the enthusiasm among people during the first phase of polling. He said that Bihar was voting for development, noting that social media was full of pictures showing long queues at polling booths, especially of women coming out in large numbers to vote.
Modi said that from Patna to Purnea, one slogan was echoing, “Once again NDA government, once again a government of good governance.” He promised the youth that their dreams were his personal mission, saying, “This is Modi, you, the people, are my parents, you are my master, you are my remote control.”

He reminded the crowd of the “15 years of jungle raj” during the RJD’s earlier rule from 1990 to 2005, saying those years were marked by cruelty, corruption, misgovernance, and fear. He gave what he described as a “zero report card” for that period, claiming that in those 15 years, Bihar saw no expressways, no new bridges on the Kosi River, no tourist circuits, no sports complexes, and no new medical colleges.
Modi added that not a single IIT or IIM came to Bihar under the RJD, saying those years devoured the future of an entire generation.
Development Under the NDA
The Prime Minister said that since the NDA came to power in 2014, Bihar’s development has picked up new speed thanks to the double-engine government. He listed major accomplishments such as the establishment of IIT and AIIMS in Patna, an IIM in Bodh Gaya, and an IIIT in Bhagalpur. He said that work on the AIIMS in Darbhanga is moving fast and that four new central universities have been set up in the state.

He highlighted government initiatives that have benefited the poor, including permanent housing, free medical treatment, tap water connections, and support through the Mudra Yojana. Modi said that a National Makhana Board has been created for farmers and that the minimum support price for jute has been increased to ₹5,060 per quintal.
Congress insults faith, RJD protects Infiltrators
Modi also spoke strongly about what he called the issues of intruders and the insult to faith. He said the NDA government is working sincerely to identify and remove infiltrators from the country because they take over farmland and deprive local youth of jobs. He said that the Congress and RJD are trying to protect such people and even grant them citizenship through the back door.

The Prime Minister said that the Congress party insults religious beliefs and reminded people that one of its leaders had once called the Chhathi Maiya festival a “drama.” He said that this was an insult to the faith and traditions of the people of Bihar. Modi added that the mothers and sisters of Bihar have already decided to make the state prosperous again and will not let “jungle raj” return.
PM’s appeal to Voters
Meanwhile, earlier in the morning, as polling for the first phase began across several constituencies, with people voting for 121 Assembly seats in 18 districts. PM Modi took to social media to urge citizens to vote in large numbers. In a post on X, he wrote, “Today marks the first phase of the festival of democracy in Bihar. I urge all voters of this phase to cast their votes with full enthusiasm.

My special congratulations to all the young voters who are voting for the first time. Remember, vote first, refreshments later!” The multi-phase election will decide Bihar’s political future, with the NDA and the opposition INDIA bloc both making strong efforts to reach voters.
