Kolkata: TMC goons attack local residents with bombs and bullets, victims confront police in viral video

On Sunday (2nd February) evening, Trinamool Congress goons attacked local residents of the Golpark area in South Kolkata with bombs and bullets.

According to reports, 2 people were injured during the attack. The attack took place after TMC goons entered the area and were confronted by the locals. Following a heated argument, the attackers hurled bombs and fired bullets targeting the residents.

They also vandalised several vehicles. Upon learning about the matter, the police sent a large team to the Golpark area to control the situation.

A senior officer told The Telegraph, “Crude bombs were thrown, and at least one round of bullets was fired during the clash. Empty cartridges and splinters have been recovered from the area. The situation is now under control. Ten people were arrested early on Monday, and raids are underway to arrest others involved in the clash”

The incident created a sense of chaos and panic among the residents. As per West Bengal BJP, the attack was the handiwork of TMC goon Sona Pappu and his gang. Locals also said that the violence was carried out by the goons to assert political control over the Golpark area.

In a video that has now surfaced on social media, aggrieved residents were seen questioning the police over their inaction. A woman was heard saying, “Where were you when they were attacking us? You are responsible for our safety. How did they get bombs here, illegally?”
