In a major development, the Nashik city police arrested 4 Muslims employees of the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in a new case involving sexual harassment and hurting religious sentiments. They have been serving time in judicial custody in connection with previous cases.
According to a report by The Times of India, the new case was registered based on the complaint of a male Hindu employee. The 4 Muslim men were booked under BNS sections 75 (sexual harassment), 79 (attempt to insult modesty), 299 (acts to outrage religious feelings) and 302 (words to wound religious feelings).
As per ACP (crime) Sandeep Mitke, sexual harassment charges were added as the 4 accused abused the wife of the male victim when she was working at the TCS Nashik facility. So far, 9 cases have been registered against 8 Muslim employees. The Special Investigation Team is currently probing all the cases.
