Telangana: Out on bail POCSO accused kills 16-year-old victim and 5 others, locals outrage against police negligence

In a shocking incident late on July 10, 2026, in the Rangareddy district of Telangana, an out-on-bail POCSO case accused named B Rajkumar, murdered six people using sharp weapons. The victims are the 16-year-old girl who had brought the complaint of sexual harassment against him, her mother, and grandmother in Shabad town near Hyderabad, followed by his wife and their toddler sons at a nearby village.

Police have described it as a revenge-driven attack spanning two sites within hours. The police have stated that the POCSO case against him was brought in May, and the accused went into hiding. He had later applied for anticipatory bail at a local court which was granted.

Forced victim into his car and drove her to a secluded spot, may have raped her before murder

Rajkumar, aged 35 years, was booked for sexually harassing the teenage girl. Despite the victim’s family complaining that they were receiving threats of violence, Rajkumar was granted anticipatory bail by a local court, as per reports. Some reports say that on the night of the incident, Raju Kumar might have raped the victim before murdering her. He reportedly forced the victim into his car after killing her mother and grandmother, and drove her to a lakeside. Police have stated that the victim’s body has signs of assault and sexual abuse, and the post-mortem will reveal details. The only person spared was the victim’s mentally challenged sister.

He then came to his house at night and murdered his own wife and their two toddler sons, aged 18 months and 4 years, respectively.

After committing the murders, Rajkumar called his parents and informed them that he has finished both the families and plans to die by suicide. The parents reportedly alerted the authorities.

The police have recovered the dead bodies of the victims, and sent them for post mortem. The murderer is currently absconding and the police are searching for him.

The uncle of the teenage victim, who had brought the complaint of sexual assault against Rajkumar, has accused the local police of gross negligence and corruption, saying that they took bribes and helped the accused secure bail. He has also added that despite their complaint that the accused is roaming free and issuing violent threats to the victim’s family, the police took no steps.

He demanded action against officers and protection for another differently-abled girl in the household.

Locals in the area are outraged and questions are being raised how did the accused under the stringent POCSO laws manage to get bail despite serious criminal charges against him.
