The Chennai Cyber Crime police on Sunday arrived at Srirangam temple to arrest temple activist Rangarajan Narasimhan. Narasimhan is accused of making a derogatory social media post against Deputy CM Udaynidhi Stalin and Sriperumbudur Embar Jeeyar.
On Sunday, the Sriperumbudur Jeeyar had lodged a complaint with the cyber crime police on Sunday against Rangarajan Narasimhan for the alleged derogatory post linking Udaynidhi Stalin to the Embar Jeeyar.
Rangarajan Narasimhan is being brought to Chennai from Srirangam for further interrogation.
Rangarajan Narasimhan often files PILs in High Court regarding the management of Tamil Nadu temples. In the past he was directed by the court to issue an unconditional apology to industrialist Vishnu Srinivasan over social media post despite a prohibitory order.
