In another disturbing case of political violence from West Bengal, a Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader murdered his wife for supporting the rival Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
According to a report by The Times of India, the victim was identified as Adipata Das. The incident occurred on Sunday (12th April) at Minakhan in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.
The victim was brutally thrashed and later hanged by her husband, Rahul Das, with the help of her father-in-law, Subrata Das.
As per a report by Taaza TV, the woman’s parents informed that the victim was subjected to physical and mental torture since her marriage in 2021.
In the meantime, Sudipta Das has claimed that the victim died by suicide. The TMC has meanwhile downplayed the case as ‘politically motivated.’
