The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a major drive to create and update digital records of students studying in government and aided schools across the state. Under the ongoing academic session, schools have been asked to register all new admissions and update student profiles on the U-DISE Plus portal. The move is aimed at building a complete digital database of school students and improving the way the education system is managed.
The state has already completed a large part of the exercise. According to the government, 97.14 % of the overall work has been finished. The Basic Education Department has completed 98.98 per cent of the updates, while the Secondary Education Department has achieved 94.33 per cent progress.
The government has now opened the U-DISE Plus portal for uploading details of students who have recently taken admission in pre-primary classes and Class 1. District officials have been instructed to complete the data entry process without delay so that records remain updated from the start of the academic session.
To speed up the work, the Director General of School Education has directed District Inspectors of Schools (DIOS), Basic Shiksha Adhikaris (BSAs) and Block Education Officers to ensure that all student profiles are updated within the given timeline. Schools have also been told to upload details of every newly admitted student on the portal.
Portal to help in better planning and monitoring
The state government said that U-DISE Plus is no longer just a platform for collecting school data. It has become an important system for planning, monitoring and managing school education. By keeping student information in one digital database, the government aims to make the education system more transparent, accountable and focused on better results.
Officials said maintaining digital records from the beginning of the academic session will help students receive scholarships, educational assistance and other government benefits without unnecessary delays. The updated database will also support better policy planning and make it easier for the government to track and improve the performance of the school education system.
