The Palisades is a generally prosperous area and many lush estates are located in the fire zone, described as one of the most expensive homes in the USA. The exact extent of the damages and lost lives are not yet clear.
The Los Angeles Fire Department has announced an expanded evacuation zone and is employing bulldozers to move parked vehicles so that moving vehicles can evacuate the affected area rapidly.
