Saiyed, from Rajkot, was detained for questioning after police discovered that he had transferred ₹ 2,000 to Sakariya. He was interrogated in Rajkot, along with four others, before being taken to Delhi on Friday night (16th August).
The news came shortly after a day of a report of an Indian student, Charanpreet Singh, 23 year-old, being brutally assaulted in Adelaide Australia, over a parking dispute.
The victim’s father filed a complaint alleging attempted murder and expressed fear for her safety. Despite the viral video and serious allegations, police have reportedly not filed an FIR or taken action so far.
The mob comprised burqa-clad women and minor boys who hurled abuses and looted equipment. Even a DTC bus the journalists tried escaping in was attacked, while the driver forced them off instead of helping.
