According to the police, accused Salim was going to dispose of the girl's body by placing it on his bike but the body slipped off the bike on the way. In a hurry, Salim threw the body in the drain and fled.

Nikki had been married to Vipin Bhati for nine years. But her family says she was constantly harassed for dowry. Her elder sister Kanchan, who is also married into the same family, said she saw Nikki being burnt alive right in front of her.

The man is in custody of the security personnel and is being questioned. He will be handed over to the local police.
