The West Bengal police have detained the person who shared the disturbing video allegedly showing Jayanta Singh, a close associate of TMC MLA Madan Mitra, violently attacking a woman with his gang

"We need to spread Islam among non-Muslims. If we can bring someone on the path of Islam, then, we will prove to be a true Muslims by ensuring the spread of Faith," Firhad Hakim brazened out.

While ordering the release of a man arrested for criticising the Mamata Banerjee govt in the comment section of a Facebook live video, the Calcutta High Court on 27th June said that the arrest was an absolute excess action on the part of the police

"TMC people beat me up. I was stripped and thrashed. I don't trust Mamata Banerjee and the police. I am associated with the BJP," the assault victim was quoted as saying by ANI.

Earlier, Mamata Banerjee objected to Raj Bhavan being the venue for the oath-taking ceremony for two TMC MLAs who recently won in by-polls and alleged that women were afraid of visiting the Raj Bhavan. 

"Sujit Bose is allowing encroachment as per his wishes. He has made it seem like a competition." Mamata Banerjee was heard saying.

In the release, the West Bengal Governor shared that he visited the victims of violence who were prevented from meeting him on Thursday in spite of written permission.

The Bengal CM has been bitter and angry, despite TMC's good performance in the state. She knows very well that the NDA won the majority mandate fare and square, but the truth has not stopped her from vomiting bitter political barbs against PM Modi and the BJP.

In the interim order, the Calcutta High Court said, “The election ensures the majority opinion of the citizen of the country and its faith and allegiance to a political party to administer and maintain the various facets of the people for their betterment and development, which goes without saying that there is no space for any violence in a democratic polity.”

Alleging that the state police controlled the central forces throughout the polling process, Suvendu Adhikari asserted that false voting had ruined BJP's chances in several constituencies in West Bengal.
