Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Puri said, "I want to share with you my understanding of the National Herald case...This is an open and shut case of fraud, corruption and money laundering... Congress party has used their lawyers to somehow delay and derail the case..."
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has served notices to property registrars in Delhi, Mumbai, and Lucknow to take possession of assets worth Rs 661 crore
In its order, the authority stated that it noted that the equity shares and movable assets that the ED had attached were proceeds of crime and were connected with money laundering offences.
The opposition parties including the CPI(M), DMK, RJD, Shiv Sena, RSP, and more also issued a joint statement claiming that the Modi government is misusing the central agencies to target the opposition.
