"Yes the women were somehow disrobed... to whatever extent...there is no point in politicising the incident," Shashi Panja trivilaised the seriousness of the crime.
On July 20, a BJP gram sabha candidate in West Bengal informed that she was physically assaulted, stripped and paraded naked by workers of the ruling TMC during the panchayat elections.
Brinda Karat said, "We are against the dictatorship displayed by the TMC during the Panchayat elections of Bengal that claimed 60 lives. It is a reality of West Bengal."
The six persons nominated for the Rajya Sabha seats prominently include RTI 'activist', Congress loyalist-turned-TMC member Saket Gokhale who had come under public scrutiny for misappropriation of funds that he collected from Modi haters.
"The situation is not good after the elections, the general public is also not coming out due to fear. The general public is in panic. If anyone comes out, TMC threatens," a local resident said.
He further said that TMC workers were caught red-handed, changing ballot boxes in several places, with the help of contractors and local administration, before they could reach the strong rooms.
