Fact check: Viral video of ‘robbery attempt’ in Noida was a stunt being performed for a YouTube channel

Noida police have clarified that the video was fake.

A video has gone viral in social media showing two cars speeding along the roads of Noida in what seemed like a robbery attempt. In the video, a man could be seen leaning out of his moving vehicle and attempting to beat up the passenger of the vehicle he was chasing.

He could be seen waving a weapon at him, threatening him to stop the car. The video was widely shared on Twitter while tagging the handles of Noida and UP police asking them to take action.

However, in response to one of the users, Noida police have said that the passengers of both the vehicles were in fact friends and that this was stunt performed by them. This wasn’t a real robbery attempt.

Noida police have clarified that the video was fake.

The police also took to Twitter to clarify that the video was shot by some people for their Youtube channel and suitable legal action is being taken against them for causing a public nuisance.
