The Prime Minister’s office confirmed that PM Modi has been briefed on the latest developments following the blast and is closely monitoring the situation. He has directed that all possible assistance be provided to the victims and their families.
Home Minister Amit Shah has already deployed top investigation teams, including those from NIA, NSG, and FSL, to the blast site to conduct a detailed probe.
The explosion, which occurred near Gate No. 1 of Red Fort Metro Station, triggered panic in the area, damaging several vehicles and prompting a massive security response.
Authorities continue to scan CCTV footage and forensic evidence as multiple agencies work in coordination to determine the cause of the explosion.
The explosion comes just hours after investigators busted what is being described as a “doctor terror’ module in Faridabad, barely 45 kilometres from the national capital. The operation uncovered nearly 2,900 kilograms of explosive material and exposed a chilling network of doctors, clerics, and professionals working as covert operatives for Pakistan-backed outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH).
