The police further added that a case has been registered at the Knowledge Park Police Station, and Lunjeana Pamai has been arrested. “Further investigation into the circumstances and motive behind the murder is currently underway,” the police said.
Victim Duck Hee Yuh was the son of Hwa Yong Yuh, was a resident of Cheongju City in South Korea. The incident took place in the Knowledge Park area, a hub for IT professionals and expatriates. The two were living at an apartment in ATS Pious Hideaways in Noida’s Sector 150. Local residents expressed shock at the violence, with one neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, describing the couple as “quiet and unassuming.” Police have sealed the couple’s residence and are collecting forensic evidence, including the suspected murder weapon.
Pamai stabbed Yuh during a fight, and when he started bleeding, she panicked and took him to the hospital. But the injuries were too serious and he could not be saved. During questioning, the woman admitted to committing the crime. Lungena told the police, “On Saturday night, we were partying. We were drinking together. Then we got into an argument over something.”
She said that the fight escalated so much that she stabbed him in a drunken state, adding that she had no idea that the wound would be so deep. Seeing him covered in blood, she rushed him to GIMS Hospital in Greater Noida, where doctors declared him dead. Police said that only one stab wound was found on the body.
She also said that deceased was an alcoholic and frequently assaulted her while intoxicated. This created tension between them.
Police have collected crucial evidence from the scene, and a post-mortem examination is underway. Since this case involves a foreign national, relevant officials and the South Korean embassy have been informed. Lunjeana Pamai has been sent to judicial custody.
