Agra police to seize Dawood Ahmed’s property following new charges in conversion syndicate probe, fresh FIR filed

Agra Police have stepped up action in the religious conversion syndicate case by filing a fresh FIR against Dawood Ahmed and starting legal steps to attach his property in Bhopal. Authorities have also pasted a property attachment notice at his residence in Bhopal, signalling the start of legal proceedings to seize his assets, after he failed to appear in court despite being summoned.

The case began in July 2025 when two minor sisters went missing from Agra’s Sadar area. During the search, police found that the girls had come in contact with a well-organised conversion network. They were later rescued from Kolkata, which helped uncover a much bigger racket.

So far, more than 14 people have been arrested. Police have identified Abdul Rahman as the main person behind the network, operating from Delhi, while his associate Ayesha was handling some activities from Goa. During questioning, the accused revealed that the network was receiving money from abroad, including from Canada and the UAE.

Investigators said Dawood Ahmed, who is originally from Bhopal and currently based in Canada, played an important role in sending these funds. Police teams even carried out raids in Bhopal to catch him, but he is still absconding.

A new case has been registered against him at Sadar Bazar police station under Section 209 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). During the investigation, police also rescued several other girls linked to the network.

Officials say the investigation is still going on, and more arrests and action are expected as efforts continue to break the entire syndicate.
